    Sharon Friend, M.A., CCC-SLP

    Sharon grew up in Southern California, and always enjoyed working with children. Her first job was a camp counselor and she found it really rewarding, so when Sharon was in college and her mom suggested she take an introduction to speech therapy class, the rest was history. In 2019, Sharon and her family made Houston home.

    Sharon graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Communication Disorders and earned her Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Cal State University Los Angeles. In addition to being a member of the speech therapists team at The Speech Garden, Sharon is also a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

    Sharon has a wide range of experience in public school and clinical settings. She began her career working in the Los Angeles schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District for six years and began practicing as a private practitioner in 2021. Sharon’s areas of expertise include diagnosis and treatment of expressive and receptive language disorders, fluency, articulation disorders and pragmatic disorders in children. Sharon enjoys working with toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children.

    Sharon resides with her two children and husband. During her free time, Sharon enjoys cooking, reading, swimming, and traveling.
