While growing up in Houston, Allison’s younger cousin always saw a speech-language pathologist and attended The Parish School, a school designed for children with language and learning differences. Allison also has an aunt who stutters. It was through her special family members that she decided to become a Speech Language Pathologist.

Allison attended The University of Texas at Austin (Go Longhorns!) and graduated with a bachelors in speech pathology. She continued her studies at The University of Texas at Dallas- Callier Center, where she earned her masters degree.

Allison has a wide range of experience in clinical, public school and private school settings. She began her career working in Montgomery County Public Schools in Silver Spring, MD for several years. Upon returning to Houston, she served as a Speech and Language Pathologist in elementary classrooms at The Parish School. Allison has been practicing as a private practitioner since 2013. In 2018, Allison and her colleague, Jennifer Rose, M.S.CCC-SLP, opened The Speech Garden. Allison’s areas of expertise include diagnosis and treatment of expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation disorders and pragmatic disorders in children. Allison enjoys working with toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children.

Allison is a member of The Texas Speech and Hearing Association and The American Speech and Hearing Association. Allison has come to love the private practice setting as it allows for more detailed interaction with both her clients and their families and allows her to work with kids long-term and share in their successful speech journeys.

Allison lives with her three children, her husband and their dog Teddy. She enjoys exercising, cooking, trying new restaurants, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
